Trump Rocks ‘Trump 2028’ Hat After Joking He’ll Win a Fourth Election, Roasts Critics at White House Correspondents’ Dinner
President Donald Trump attended the White House Correspondents’ Dinner for the first time as president and delivered an hour-long speech filled with jokes, political jabs and criticism of the media.
Speaking to a room of journalists, Trump once again urged Americans not to believe the “fake news” when discussing the war with Iran, while also saying he respects journalists and that they do an “amazing job.”
The president poked fun at several public figures, including Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Chris Christie, Jerry Nadler, Bruce Springsteen, CNN’s Kaitlan Collins and Sen. Adam Schiff. At one point, after a joke fell flat, Trump joked that he wasn’t sure whether anyone understood “this whole freakin stupid speech that they wrote.”
Trump also revived his repeated jokes about seeking another term, ending his remarks by putting on a red “Trump 2028” hat and saying, “I won three times, now I’m going to do it again,” a reference to his continued claim that he won the 2020 election.
