“Iran’s Ministry of Petroleum announced on Saturday, July 25, 2026, that it generated a total of $18 billion in revenue from oil sales during the war and the subsequent ceasefires with the United States, according to a report by AFP.”
“A statement posted on the ministry’s website stated that Iran generated $11.5 billion in revenue during active warfare and approximately another $6.5 billion during the ceasefire,
before the agreement collapsed earlier last month. Iran’s Ministry of Petroleum highlighted that this revenue covered over 60 percent of the oil revenue projected in the national annual budget during this acute war crisis.
However, the announced figures stand in stark contrast to claims made in late June by Iran’s parliament speaker and chief negotiator,
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who had previously asserted that Iran was unable to export even a single drop of oil due to the naval blockade imposed by the U.S. Navy.
The war between the US-Israel and Iran broke out on February 28, plunging the entire region into crisis. Later, an April ceasefire temporarily halted the conflict; unfortunately, fighting reignited earlier this July as the sworn enemies vie for control of the Strait of Hormuz—one of the most critical commercial arterial routes in the region and the world.”
