Trump Admin Wildly Surpasses Biden Energy Record In Matter of Months

U.S. energy production and exports growth

The White House celebrated the one-year anniversary of the National Energy Dominance Council on Saturday, highlighting record gains in U.S. energy production under President Donald Trump. Officials said oil and natural gas output, export capacity, and gasoline affordability have all improved compared with the previous administration.

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, chair of the council, told Fox News Digital that the council’s efforts have delivered “historic gains in energy production, affordability, and security.” He added that lower gasoline prices and streamlined permitting have directly benefited families, farmers, and small businesses, while strengthening the U.S. position in global energy markets.

Federal energy data show U.S. crude oil production reached 13.6 million barrels per day in 2025, surpassing previous records and positioning the United States as the world’s largest producer. Natural gas output also hit 110.1 billion cubic feet per day in November 2025, the highest level since records began in 1973. These figures are roughly 8% above Biden-era averages and exceed previous national records.

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports have expanded to 15 billion cubic feet per day, up from 11 under the prior administration. Officials credited regulatory reforms for reducing barriers to development and supporting growth across multiple energy sectors.

The National Energy Dominance Council, created by executive order on February 14, 2025, was tasked with accelerating permitting, boosting exports, and coordinating a national energy strategy. Critics caution that emphasizing fossil fuels could limit long-term sustainability, but the administration argues that higher domestic production strengthens economic stability, lowers consumer costs, and enhances national security.

Burgum said the anniversary underscores a continued commitment to U.S. energy leadership and ensuring long-term prosperity, security, and energy affordability for American families.
