President Trump Makes Stunning Announcement In Nancy Guthrie Case – Says If She Is Killed He Will Seek Death Penalty

FBI DNA Breakthrough Intensifies Hunt in Guthrie Kidnapping Case

TUCSON, AZ — The stakes in the terrifying disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie have just reached the absolute highest level. President Donald Trump has issued a chilling, zero-tolerance ultimatum to the individuals responsible for kidnapping the mother of NBC “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie: Release her unharmed, or face the death penalty.

The stunning announcement comes just as the FBI confirmed a massive, potential game-changing forensic breakthrough involving a black glove recovered miles from the crime scene.

“THE MOST SEVERE” CONSEQUENCES

During a brief phone interview on Monday, President Trump made it crystal clear that his administration will not tolerate the abduction of the elderly grandmother.

When asked if the Department of Justice would pursue capital punishment if Nancy Guthrie is found dead, Trump didn’t hesitate. “The most, yeah — that’s true,” Trump confirmed.

He warned the abductors that they would face “very, very severe — the most severe” federal consequences if she is killed. The President had previously called Savannah Guthrie directly on Feb. 4 to offer full federal assistance in the rapidly expanding investigation.

Federal charges are standard in high-profile kidnappings, especially if the victim is moved across state lines. The federal government reserves capital punishment for its most notorious cases, such as Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, Pittsburgh synagogue shooter Robert Bowers, and Charleston church shooter Dylann Roof. (All three were notably excluded when former President Joe Biden commuted the sentences of 37 out of the 40 men on federal death row).

THE DNA BREAKTHROUGH

As the political heat turns up, investigators on the ground may have finally caught a break.

The FBI announced a significant forensic development regarding the masked intruder caught on Guthrie’s doorbell camera. On February 11, federal authorities found a black glove in a brush area approximately two miles from her Catalina Foothills residence.

While search teams collected roughly 16 gloves in the area, most were discarded as unrelated. However, this specific glove was different.

  • Visual Match: An FBI spokesperson confirmed the glove “appears to match the gloves of the subject in the surveillance video.”

  • Forensic Evidence: The glove contained a distinct DNA profile.

The biological evidence was shipped to a private forensic laboratory in Florida. Following rapid preliminary testing, the lab successfully identified an unknown male DNA profile.

The FBI is currently conducting final quality control on the results. Once confirmed, the profile will be run through CODIS (Combined DNA Index System) and potentially genetic genealogy databases in a desperate race to identify the suspect.

Simultaneously, high-tech aerial units carrying specialized Bluetooth devices are aggressively flying over the remote Arizona desert, attempting to detect the faint electronic signal emitted by Nancy Guthrie’s pacemaker.

With the President threatening the ultimate punishment and the FBI closing in on the suspect’s DNA, the kidnappers are rapidly running out of places to hide.
